An Artistic Engagement at The Kimbell Art Museum: Laura + Pedro
When two classical musicians choose the Kimbell Art Museum for their engagement session, you know the result is going to be a masterpiece. The clean lines, iconic concrete arches, and soft natural light of this Fort Worth landmark provided the perfect "stage" for Laura and Pedro’s love story.
As a photographer, I am always looking for ways to capture the rhythm and harmony of a couple, and with these two, the music was felt in every frame.
A Love Story Composed over Time
Laura and Pedro’s journey is one of incredible resilience and growth. Having met as teenagers, they navigated the "ups and downs" of young love before facing the ultimate tests: moving to a new country, learning a new language, and surviving the rigors of being international music students.
In the competitive world of classical music, where "no" is a frequent answer, they have been each other's constant "yes." They have grown up together, both musically and personally, proving that their bond is as enduring as the architecture surrounding them. Whether it was navigating a long-distance relationship or supporting each other through college, every trial has only made their connection deeper and more soulful.
Elegance, Connection, and a Touch of Spontaneity
While they describe their relationship as spontaneous, they also value the deep, traditional roots of their heritage. Since they aren't overly comfortable with loud public displays of affection, we focused on "quiet" intimacy—gentle touches, shared glances, and the quality time that defines their love language.
Because they had never experienced a professional photoshoot before, we kept things relaxed and fun. We joked about the "weirdness" of piggyback rides and instead leaned into authentic poses that felt like them. I wanted these photos to reflect the happiness and connection they feel today, so that in 20 years, they can look back and see the "success moment" of their own partnership.
From the Kimbell to the Altar
The Kimbell Art Museum’s minimalist aesthetic beautifully complemented the Light + Airy style they love. It served as a stunning prelude to their upcoming wedding at the historic Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
We captured a beautiful variety of shots for their bespoke wedding album:
- The Musician's Soul: Deep, romantic portraits that reflect their shared passion.
- Modern Classic: Utilizing the museum’s geometry to frame their spontaneous laughter.
- The Connection: Soft, candid moments that tell the story of two people who have truly "grown up" together.
