An Elegant Courthouse Elopement: Jamie + Kevin’s Tarrant County Celebration


When you think of an elopement, you think of intimacy, elegance, and a touch of adventure. Jamie and Kevin’s wedding at the Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth was the perfect example of how a "legal" ceremony can be just as breathtaking and soulful as a massive gala.


While these two are planning a huge, traditional ceremony back home in Colombia, they wanted their Texas elopement to be a fun, spontaneous session that captured this specific chapter of their love story before their big international celebration.


The Beauty of the Tarrant County Courthouse

As a Fort Worth photographer, the Tarrant County Courthouse is one of my absolute favorite "historic" backdrops. The red granite, sweeping staircases, and incredible natural light make it a dream for an elegant and adventurous couple. Jamie and Kevin specifically wanted to highlight the architectural beauty of the building, and we made sure to utilize those iconic stairs for some truly romantic portraits.


Furry Guests and Festive Finishes

No family celebration is complete without the four-legged members! Jamie and Kevin brought their two dogs along for the ceremony, adding a personal and playful touch to their elegant gallery. Seeing their pups on the courthouse grounds made for some of the most heart-melting candid moments of the day.


To top off the afternoon, we headed outside for a champagne pop at the end of the session! There is nothing like a spray of bubbles to signal "We’re married!" It was the perfect high-energy finale to their intimate ceremony and gave us those "fun and spontaneous" photos they were looking for.


A Romantic, Spontaneous Session

Jamie and Kevin are both extroverts who share a love language of words of affirmation, which made my job so easy! Since they’ve worked with me before, they were total naturals in front of the camera. We focused on a romantic vibe, leaning into those candid moments that feel authentic and unscripted.


Even with a small guest count of only five people, the energy was high and the love was palpable. They kept things simple with a classic "White" color palette, which looked stunning against the warm tones of the historic courthouse stone.


Future Memories in Print

In 20 years, when Jamie and Kevin look back at these photos, they won't just see a legal ceremony—they’ll see the day they officially became husband and wife in the heart of Texas. They are already planning on turning these memories into prints and print sets to display in their home!
