Dear Emily + Khoji,
What an adventure your engagement session turned out to be! From the moment you landed in Texas, things didn’t quite go as planned. The airport lost your wedding gown and your outfits for your session — my photographer heart sank right along with yours. But even in the middle of the chaos, I prayed and trusted that G-d would work it out. And He did! Hours later, those bags showed up, and you were able to relax and enjoy your time here. Talk about a miracle in the making. ✨
Once the dust settled, you two were such naturals in front of the camera. I love how your relationship shines — steady, sweet, and full of laughter. Six years together, from high school sweethearts to navigating college at Arizona State, to now chasing your career dreams in Phoenix — your love story has been about growing up and growing together. That’s something so rare and so beautiful.
You both described yourselves as logical yet emotional, introverted yet close — and I saw all of that play out during your session. From the quiet, deep moments to the playful piggyback rides (Khoji, you rocked it 💪), every photo felt authentic to who you are. And I already know these images are going to stand the test of time, just like your love.
I loved how you mentioned that when you look back at these photos in 20 years, you want them to feel timeless but also real — and that’s exactly what this day was. Not staged, not forced, just you two being yourselves. Flirty, romantic, fun, and so deeply connected.
Your love languages of physical touch and quality time were written all over the way you held each other and laughed together. Whether you were wrapped up in a soft embrace or sharing one of your inside jokes, it was clear that this session wasn’t about poses — it was about capturing the bond you’ve built over years of supporting one another through milestones, challenges, and the everyday joys.
I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for you both. Your journey is proof that even when life throws curveballs (or missing luggage 😅), love always shows up and carries the day.
With love and excitement,
Rae
