Dear Cynthia and Justin,
Some wedding days feel like sunlight — gentle, radiant, and warm in all the right ways. Yours was that kind of day, glowing quietly with joy even as the skies remained still.
Though we hadn’t met prior to your wedding day — a rarity for me, as I so love connecting with my couples during engagement sessions — I felt an immediate sense of peace the moment I stepped into your story. Living out of state, you chose The Milestone Mansion in Denton as the perfect meeting place — a beautiful in-between where family from both sides could gather and celebrate the beginning of your forever.
From the moment I arrived, there was a calm rhythm to the day — everything intentional, everything in place. And that was thanks to Melissa, the incredible venue coordinator. In over fifteen years of photographing weddings, I can truly say I’ve never encountered anyone quite like her. The flat-lay station was thoughtfully prepared, the dress displayed with care, and she instinctively knew where the light would fall best — before I even asked.
Yet what stood out most wasn’t just her precision, but her heart. Melissa carried kindness and composure into every interaction, caring deeply not only for the couple but for every vendor involved. She was always two steps ahead, moving with grace, professionalism, and genuine joy. If you are blessed to have Melissa coordinating your wedding at The Milestone, you are undoubtedly in the best hands.
And then there was you, Cynthia — radiant in your white gown, with layers of colorful tulle hidden beneath. Elegant on the surface, joyful at the core. With every twirl came a glimpse of playful color, a beautiful reflection of your spirit and the light you carry.
The florals were nothing short of dreamy — soft pastels and delicate textures that perfectly complemented your vision of a classic, garden-inspired celebration. And the cake — a true work of art — adorned in blue, yellow, and pink, finished with lace appliqué and pink roses that looked lovingly hand-painted.
Your day overflowed with laughter — the kind that lingers, long after the music fades. You and Justin — “Honey Bear” and “Baby” — share a love that is easy, playful, and deeply affectionate. A love found in the small moments: high fives, stretched fingers and toes after a long day, quiet care for one another in ways that feel both simple and sacred.
Every photograph told that story — two souls woven together in laughter, surrounded by family, color, and joy.
Cynthia and Justin, thank you for inviting me into your love story, even if only for a day. Your wedding was a gentle reminder that distance never limits connection — and that joy, when shared, always finds its way home.
With love and gratitude,
Rae De Lain
