Dear Future Brides, Friends & Romantics,
Today’s Wedding Wednesday post is about a couple who showed me what weathering the storm together really looks like—literally.
Let me set the scene…
The forecast? Clear skies.
The vibe? Excitement, laughter, and soft music playing while Cindy got her hair and makeup done. She looked stunning, and we were all feeling that natural Texas glow. But as we were putting on final touches, I started to notice… the clouds didn’t seem to get the “no rain” memo.
We checked the weather again—still said no rain until 7pm. It was only 6:30. Plenty of time, right?
Wrong. ☔
Almost on cue, the skies opened up. Not a light drizzle… no, no—we’re talking Texas-style rainstorm with a bonus hailstorm. I met up with Cindy and Scott anyway, determined to capture their joy, but by the time we got to our first location, we were running for cover under the gas station canopy of a 7-Eleven while hail started pounding the pavement (and nearly my windshield 😳). We laughed, regrouped, and waited it out.
About 30 minutes later, the rain let up just enough… and they looked at me and said, “Let’s do it.”
So, we braved the rain.
We embraced the clouds.
And what came next? Magic. ✨
Cindy + Scott’s session is now one of my FAVORITES to date. The chemistry, the resilience, and the willingness to dance in the rain—literally and figuratively—showed me exactly why they’re perfect for each other.
As if this session wasn’t already full of heart-melting moments, Cindy and Scott brought along their three adorable pups to help announce their save the dates—and oh my goodness, they stole the show! 🐾 Each pup showed up in the cutest outfits, posed like seasoned pros, and added just the right amount of tail-wagging charm. Let’s just say… love wasn’t the only thing in the air—there was definitely a little puppy love too! 💌🐶
📸 About Cindy + Scott:
When I asked them to describe themselves, they smiled and said:
“Fun, quirky, homebodies.”
They love cooking together, working puzzles, and just being in each other’s space. They’re that kind of couple who make quiet moments feel like the loudest kind of joy.
They met on a dating app and have been inseparable ever since. Through life’s ups and downs, they’ve found home in each other—and it shows.
Neither had ever done a professional photo session before, but you’d never know it. Their love is effortless, their smiles are real, and their hearts are completely in sync. From romantic twirls in the rain to sweet forehead kisses and flirty moments in puddles, they were down for every moment—even piggyback rides!
In 20 years, Cindy and Scott want to look back at these photos and feel the love all over again. And let me tell you—they absolutely will. 🌧️💕
Their love language? Physical touch + Acts of service.
Their energy? A mix of introverted comfort and extroverted joy.
Their style? All of the above—fun, romantic, soulful, and just plain real.
They’re planning their forever at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden—and something tells me, rain or shine, their wedding day will be just as breathtaking as this stormy, unforgettable engagement session.
Cindy + Scott, thank you for trusting me to capture your love in the rain. For reminding me that sometimes the best photos come when things don’t go according to plan. And for showing me that true love always shines—especially through the storm.
With all my heart,
✨ Rae De Lain
