A Pastel Garden Dream at Old Town Event Venue: Allison + Clayton
There is something so refreshing about a wedding that feels like a breath of spring air. Allison and Clayton’s celebration at Old Town Event Venue in Kyle, Texas, was a stunning display of elegant, traditional, and floral design. With a palette of soft pastels—blues, greens, pinks, yellows, and purples—the day felt like a romantic garden party brought to life.
Traditional Heart, Modern Style
Allison and Clayton chose to keep their wedding day traditional, opting out of a "First Look" to save that magical moment for the walk down the aisle. However, they shared a deeply moving private first prayer before the ceremony began. Being able to capture that quiet connection—focused on their love languages of physical touch and words of affirmation—without them actually seeing each other is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day.
The ceremony itself featured a beautiful unity candle lighting, symbolizing their two lives becoming one. As they exchanged vows in an unplugged ceremony, their 140 guests were fully present, witnessing a love story that was three years in the making.
Light, Airy, and Full of Laughter
If you know Allison, you know she doesn't do "serious faces!" She describes herself as an extroverted introvert who loves being the center of attention around her family, and that joy was infectious. We leaned into fun, laughing, and flirty poses that felt authentic to their dynamic.
Since Allison was inspired by Ashleigh and Jacob’s wedding on my website, we utilized the gorgeous natural light at Old Town to create that signature Light + Airy look. From the vibrant floral arrangements to the delicate pastel details, every shot was designed to feel timeless and bright.
It’s All in the Details
Allison’s vision for her wedding photography included a heavy focus on the fine details that made the day unique. We spent time crafting the perfect flat lay of her invitations, shoes, and perfume, ensuring those heirlooms were documented beautifully. Other highlights included:
- The Florals: A stunning bouquet that tied all the pastel tones together.
- The Cake: A centerpiece of the reception that was as beautiful as it was delicious.
- The Atmosphere: A "no-alcohol" celebration that was filled with high energy, loud laughter, and genuine family connection.
Looking Back in 20 Years
When Allison and Clayton look back at their bespoke wedding album decades from now, they wanted to see a couple that was "happy and in love." Looking through these frames, there is no doubt that their joy was the star of the show. From the romantic portraits under the Texas sky to the candid moments of Allison being the life of the party with her bridesmaids, every photo tells a story of a day well-celebrated.
Congratulations, Allison and Clayton! Your pastel paradise in Kyle was a dream to photograph!
